Polyamory: Love in abundance

Streamz (2024)

Monogamy is seen as the norm. Hollywood movies continue to promote the ideal monogamous relationship as the ultimate goal, complete with a prince on a white horse. But what if that norm doesn’t suit you? What if love is infinite and you consciously choose to have multiple romantic partners?

In the documentary series Polyamory: Love in abundance, we step into a world where love knows no boundaries and taboos are broken. The series offers a glimpse into various polyamorous relationships in Flanders. Across three eye-opening episodes, we unravel the prejudices and challenges of a form of love still considered unusual by many. We follow individuals who consciously choose a non-monogamous relationship. What drives them to go against the grain? How do they navigate jealousy, societal prejudices, and external pressures? Is this the relationship model of the future? Do these relationships stand a chance, and what happens if you want to get married?

Through candid stories from people in polyamorous relationships, this series explores the many ways love can exist. Personal testimonies from the cast are complemented by insights from four experts: sexologist and relationship mediator Rika Ponnet, sexologist Wim Slabbinck, clinical psychologist Nathalie Cardinaels, and relationship coach Jorna Wierts.
